Suzie Erasmuson

Suzie Erasmuson

Suzie has worked in youth work and childcare settings in both England and Scotland since 1986. She also worked for 10 years in projects supporting homeless adults and young people in Edinburgh. She runs an SQA accredited training company which enables her to support staff undertake SVQs in childcare. She spent over 10 years working for SQA as an external verifier for care and childcare qualifications. She has a BA in Community Education, SVQ level 4 in Care, SVQ Registered Manager Award, CCETSW Social Work Practice Teaching Qualification, PDA Childhood modules at SCQF Level 9. Suzie started Kids Insight in 2012 and loves to support children to have fun and be creative at Kids Insight.

Suzie is based in the Balerno Bowling Club venue, Monday to Thursday.

Rachel has worked in childcare/social care settings for over since 1998 and as the mother of 6 children and also a grandmother, she brings plenty of childcare experience to the role. Rachel has SVQs in Social Services Children & Young People SCQF Level 7 & level 8, holds a COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate and the PDA Childhood Practice SCQF level 9.

Rachel is the registered manager for our Currie Community Centre and Nether Currie Primary School venues. Her role is supernumeray which enables her to provide support to staff across these sites.

Christiana heads up the breakfast club at Nether Currie Primary School Mondays to Fridays. She also heads up the afterschool service at Nether Currie Primary School Monday to Thursday

Dawn studied Occupational Therapy and has been involved in youth work since 2010. She has worked with us since we opened in 2012. She brings a passion, enthusiasm and vision to see children at Kids Insight having a fun and creative experience. Dawn has the SVQ Children's Care Learning & Development Level 3 and is an SVQ assessor and is currently working towards her SVQ Social Services children & young people SCQF level 8. Dawn heads up our Ogston Hall venue in Balerno.

Joanne joined the Currie team in August 2016 and brings a wealth of childcare experience to the role. She has been a volunteer leader with the Boys Brigade for a number of years. Joanne has the SVQ Children’s Care Learning & Development Level 3.

Joanne is based in our Currie Community Centre venue Monday to Thursday and on Fridays she works at our Nether Currie Primary School venue.

Dre started working with us in 2018, while he was still in high school. He successfully completed his SVQ Social Services Children & Young People, SCQF level 7 in 2021 and was then promoted to Assistant Manager. Dre is the athletic one on the team and is always ready and willing to organise a game of football with the children. Dre helps run the breakfast club in Nether Currie Primary School and also works part of the week in the afterschool club there and part of the week in the afterschool clubs in Balerno.

Cameron runs Currie Primary School breakfast and afterschool club.

Cameron has a BA(hons) in Social Work and is starting work towards his PDA in Childhood Practice in September 2024.

Cameron is also an SVQ assessor for staff working in Kids Insight.
